Happy New Year...... .........to all of you from the Parents Association. We hope that you had a lovely Christmas and New Year and are coping well with the current cold snap! Apologies that we had to cancel our welcome back coffee morning – this was obviously due to the fact that school was closed because of the snow! There is a very busy term ahead of us – we have Grandparents day in Pre-Prep where the children entertain the Grandparents and we shall be serving refreshments. Feb 12th is our usual coffee afternoon - once again we will be asking for your donations of cakes and biscuits to sell – there will also be a second-hand uniform sale. On the night of Feb 12th we will be having a Valentines disco for the children – this will be at The Larkhill in Timperley and begins at 6.30. It will run on a similar thread to the Halloween party (only obviously with a valentine theme!!) and tickets will be on a first come, first served basis as we will have limited numbers. The Fashion Show is on Fri 12th March and will be held at The Bowdon Parish Centre (please note change of venue from the purple calendar). This promises to be a fashion and beauty extravaganza! The PA will be out in force for the open morning on Sat 20 the March and once again the Easter Bunny will be asking for your help on Sunday 21st March for the Easter Egg Hunt and Fair held in the school grounds. Many thanks to all who supported us last term – it was a busy but very enjoyable term – the Christmas Fair was extremely successful with many stalls and games for the children. I would like to personally thank all the ladies on the committee for their continued hard work and enthusiasm throughout the year and without whom many of these events could never happen. Our spending last term included a new flat screen TV in the Nursery classroom which has been enjoyed not only by Nursery but by many other classes in the school, the Library has benefitted from some new cushions as well. This term we are looking at updating the media facilities in the main hall, mainly a projector and screen that multiple classes can use at any one time. If you have any ideas or questions then please do not hesitate to contact any of the PA members. Hoping you have a wonderful and successful 2010! Jane Bold (Chairperson) and the PA Committee. |

PA News! Is it really the 21st September already?! The weeks are flying by and the PA has been very busy organising a variety of events! Quiz Night, held last Friday (18th ) was a great success and we hope that all who attended had a fabulous time – the winning team are pictured below! It was fabulous to see so many new faces there – as well as members of staff – although they may need to do more revision next year if they are to outsmart the parents! Early indications are that we have made around £340 which is an excellent start to the year. Again I would like to thank all the PA ladies who work hard to organise these events. Other events in the pipeline are Halloween, which is open to all the children in the school, and we are already thinking about Christmas!!
The Winning Team!
We have already received wish lists of some of the staff – Mrs Dulson and the Nursery department would like their media system updating (i.e. a new TV!), Mr Booth has requested some new cushions and rugs for the Library and Mrs Mitchell would like to buy some new PE equipment. Mrs Kiely is also getting a new storage bunker for outside her classroom. The Forest Cook book is well under way and if you haven’t already submitted your recipe then please do so as soon as possible. Any questions or suggestions for the PA then please do not hesitate to let us know – our email address is forestschoolpa@btinternet.com Many Thanks, Jane and the PA team!

Welcome back to a new school year at Forest – I hope you all had a great summer and are ready for those early morning starts! For those of you that are new to the school my name is Jane Bold and I am chairperson of the Parents Association. The PA raises money throughout the year providing various items for the pupils and the school. We hold a number of events throughout the year which can normally be found on the purple calendar. Our first event this year is the Quiz Night on Friday 18th September at the Larkhill Centre in Timperley. It would be great if we could have a team from each class – it’s also a good way of getting to know other parents if you are new to the school. The staff will again be entering a team into the quiz – they came second last year and rumour has it they have already been revising over the summer. Other events include the coffee afternoon where you are able to buy and sell second hand uniform and the kid’s Halloween disco which is always a sell out. We will also be organising some projects in time for Christmas but I don’t want to get into the festive spirit just yet – it’s too early!! If you would like to contact the PA then we have our own email address forestschoolpa@btinternet.com or you can drop me a line in the office or find me in the playground at drop off time, or speak to any PA member that is in your class. I am hoping to keep the PA section of the website updated so keep logging on for information about the latest events. Jane Bold Your PA Committee consists of:
