Welcome
Welcome to the Forest website. Our intention is to provide both current and prospective parents with information regarding the many aspects of school life and the opportunities we can offer every individual child.
At Forest we believe that we have found a perfect balance in pursuing academic excellence whilst at the same time maintaining strong pastoral care standards.
We strongly believe that if a child is happy they will learn and if they have a sound and efficient framework within which to work they will thrive.
Every child is made to feel important and valued by all concerned and through this atmosphere of collaboration, success is achieved.
As one parent recently wrote “We were looking for a well balanced school where boys and girls would be encouraged to work hard and play hard. We found this at a vibrant little place called Forest.”

Head Girl and Head Boy
Being Head Boy is a great experience. When I heard my name called as Head Boy, I felt so proud.
During this year, Year 6 have been successful with all of their exams. We have certain roles around school too such as: buddies time and sports like swimming, cricket, football, cross country, netball and rounders.
Buddies time is where we go to Reception on a Friday afternoon and plan some activities with the younger ones, We think it is a great responsibility having the younger children looking up to us.
A few years ago, Merits and House points were introduced to the school. Merits are for doing really well in your work and to earn House points you need to be kind and helpful around school, so you can contribute to your House. There are 4 Houses called: Mimwood, Kersal, Chorlton and Jordan.
To sum up, we have had a fantastic time at Forest Prep School.

The School Council
As part of the Student Council we have lots of aims and responsibilities:
one of these aims is to try and make our school a better place and be part of the decision making processes in school.
At the start of every year, every class from Years 1 - 6 elects two people to represent our classes in the Student Council.
The Student Council covers areas such as:
- anti-bullying
- school rules
- environment issues
- healthy school issues
This term we have been going for the Gold Eco-Schools Award. We have also been talking about an RHS competition where we have been busy designing musical plant pots. We'll then report back to our classes about what plants we want to grow in our gardens this summer.
