Mrs Kiely welcomes you to Year 1 at Forest Preparatory School
Welcome to all of you joining Year 1 after a relaxing Summer break. We have lots of new things to learn, new challenges to meet and hopefully with lots of fun along the way.
Here are some of the topics we will be exploring during this Autumn Term.
English- Story writing, poetry, lists and labels, phonics, grammar and spelling.
Maths - A range of topics from the Abacus Maths Scheme - Counting and understanding number, shape and measuring.
Science - Growing Plants/Ourselves
History - Houses and Homes/Families
Geography -The Local Area/Home and School
RE - What it means to Belong/Celebrations:Why Christians give gifts at Christmas.
PSHE - New Beginnings/Getting On and Falling Out.
D&T - Structures
Art - Van Gogh and Self Portraits.
As well as all this hard work we will be enjoying our Harvest and Christmas celebrations.
