Hello and welcome back and a Happy New Year to you all!
New Year
A year to be glad in
And not to be sad in
To gain in, to give in
A happy new year.
A new year for trying
And never for sighing
A new year to live in
Oh, hold it most dear
This term will once again be filled with fun and exciting topics, starting with one of my favourites, The Great Fire of London. We will learn how the fire started and its effects on London and will enjoy a visit to Staircase House in Stockport where we will experience life in 1666 for ourselves. Our work in RE will also be enhanced with a visit to the Jewish Museum in Manchester, where we will see all the artefacts we have been learning about.
This half term we will be learning: Mathematics – Weight, ordinal numbers, addition and subtraction, handling data, right angles and direction
English – Explanation texts, non chronological reports, glossaries, dictionary skills, poems and stories and a range of spelling strategies, grammar and comprehension skills
PHSE – Going for Goals!
Science – Grouping and Changing Materials
RE – The Torah
