Mr Tucker welcomes you to the Year 6 page.

 

The children in Year 6 have returned after a well earned rest over the school holidays although many of them were present during the holiday study sessions. The aim of these was to help prepare the children for the imminent grammar school examinations this term. The autumn term will continue to equip many of the Year 6 pupils for these entrance assessments and late classes will continue every Monday and Thursday for extra schooling. The dates of the local examinations in Trafford are as follows:

The autumn term will also encompass a wide variety of topics and curriculum areas of study including:

 

MATHS – Fractions, decimals & percentages, place value, multiplication & division, Shape & Space.

 

LITERACY – Narrative Writing, Journalistic Writing, Famous Authors (Shakespeare).

 

SCIENCE – Interdependence & Adaptation, Micro-organisms

 

HISTORY – World War 1 & World War 2 (Including a trip to Tatton Farm)

 

GEOGRAPHY – World Trade & Relations

 

RE – The Bible

 

PSHE - Changes

 

ART – Famous Artists (Kandinsky & Warhol)
