At Forest, we understand how important a strong extracurricular programme is and the many benefits it can bring to our children. We aim to offer a multitude of opportunities that may spark an ongoing interest outside of school too.
This begins as early as Kindergarten, with an after-school Spanish Club. As the children progress through the school, the breadth and depth of choices increases and as soon as the children begin Reception, they can partake in Kiddy Cook and Yoga. This extends further in Year 1, with musical and sporting opportunities and the ever-popular Lamda and Musical Drama. Within this year group, all the children will also begin their weekly swimming lessons that last until they leave school at the end of Year 6.
At break times, there are craft and book clubs as well as creative writing, lego clubs and lunchtimes will see one of our three choirs practising for their next performance.
We are always looking to add to this provision and two of our latest additions have proven to be very popular. Several of our older children are really enjoying their Monday morning drum lessons, whilst Chess Club has led to several of our boys and girls being successful in regional tournaments.
We hope that our ever-evolving extracurricular activities also contribute to our school values of being a team player and fostering resilience, engagement and a positive attitude, whilst simultaneously proving to be as enjoyable an experience as possible.
