As a small school, I am constantly amazed by the sporting achievements of our children and the amount of opportunities we provide for them to participate in and enjoy. This week was typical of both these points.
During this time, our girls and boys swimming teams finished second and third respectively in the Trafford finals whilst on the same day our Year 4 Water Polo team was improving with every game in their Independent Schools tournament in North Manchester.
Our boys football team played with great spirit in an indoor tournament (our girls team will be playing again very soon) and our Cross Country runners once more excelled at Sale Harriers.
The week came to a close with a Year 5/6 team playing in a hockey tournament at Timperley. Whilst they performed well, it was the Year 3/4 team who went undefeated over six games and returned to school with a new trophy for the cabinet!
Sport plays a very strong part in life at Forest and is brilliant not only for promoting a healthy lifestyle but also for building confidence, resilience and teamwork.
So a huge thank you to all the children for representing the school with great sportsmanship, to all the staff who coach the teams and to all our parents for their tremendous and hugely appreciated support with these many events.
