Forester James is Flying High!

Forester James is Flying High!

James Mulholland started in Forest Nursery when he was just three years old. James was always fascinated by planes and even wrote in his Year 6 Leavers Book that one day he would like to become a pilot.

Well, this summer, James took his first step towards achieving that dream when he became the UK’s youngest pilot by passing his Private Pilot’s skills test on his 17th Birthday - the minimum age that pilots can hold a Private Pilot’s License. At just 16 years of age, he did this in less than a year with about 55 flying hours, of which 10 were solo, which is quite an achievement. Part of achieving his License was passing nine written tests, which he did, all with a percentage of 95% or higher.

He now plans to work towards his Commercial License before applying for a job with an airline.

We wish James all the success for the future!
