Last year, Ms. Wellings begun leading the school through Artsmark: the only creative quality standard for schools and education settings, accredited by Arts Council England. This is a prestigious award, overseen by the Arts Council of England, and is awarded to schools who demonstrate effective strategic planning and whole-school commitment to a high standard of artistic endeavours.
We have not let Lockdown deter us from continuing on our Artsmark journey. Children have been busy creating aboriginal artwork in honour of ‘Australia Day’, Year 1 took to creating some very impressive and unique leaf-art pictures and we have had some delightfully presented pieces about how music helps improve your wellbeing. Year 4 took part in a photography competition, to see who could capture the 'essence of nature' with one photograph; the overall winner was SO with a beautifully detailed photograph of a flower.
A huge congratulations goes to DW, Year 6, who has been selected as a National Finalist in the ISA Arts UK Young Musician of the Year! Listen to his wonderful performance by clicking here.
