Superb Sporting Achievements, In True Forest Fashion

Superb Sporting Achievements, In True Forest Fashion

Local Friendlies

Over the course of this half term, Mr Bullock has been busy organising some friendly football and netball games for our upper school teams.

A couple of weeks ago, our Year 6 girls and boys teams set the ball rolling (literally) by playing a friendly against The Willows. Last week, our Year 4 boys and girls did a sterling job at representing Forest in a friendly against St Vincents. For some, it was their first time representing the school and we are very proud of each and every one of them.

This week, our year 6 girls netball team enjoyed a friendly against The Willows. Despite having never played as a team and some girls never having played a proper netball game, our Year 6 girls were outstanding in their friendly matches against The Willows this week. After a very short pre-match briefing from Mrs Budd, the girls showed brilliant teamwork, determination and positive attitudes during their 2 matches. We hope to invite The Willows to play at Forest in the near future to defend our victory!

ISA Football Tournament

Lead by our highly skilled tactician, Mr C, the Year 6, five-aside football team competed at the ISA North Schools Tournament, alongside 15 other schools. Our boys did superbly, in what was a very competitive tournament. We were delighted to see the team make it through to the quarter finals and they were exemplary in representing Forest. Well done to this wonderful team!

Cross Country

This week was the turn of our Cross Country Team at the ISA Sport North Cross Country Regionals. There were 4 races; Y3/4 boys, Y3/4 girls, Y5/6 boys and Y5/6 boys. Each team fought through the 120-150 strong starting lineup, the cold, rain and mud showing nothing but grit, determination and true Forest spirit. We are very proud of each and everyone of them, especially our Y5/6 boys team who came first in their category! An amazing effort by all our runners.

After being placed individually 3rd and 4th overall, two of our Year 6 boys are through to National Finals; JH and BS.

Waterpolo

Earlier in the term, our Year 4 (U9) Water Polo team had a thrilling experience at the ISA North Tournament.

They worked hard to gain Bronze Medals with 3 out of 4 victories and were overall top scorers at the event.

A superb achievement!
