This week, our Year 6 and some Year 5 girls were invited to take part in a Northern Schools Hockey Tournament, hosted by Manchester High School for Girls.
The weather was extremely kind to us, with the sun shining from start to finish! Included in the tournament were Cheadle Hulme, Stockport Grammar, Withington Girls', St Bedes and of course Manchester High.
Starting with a round robin, we drew against Manchester High and won our Cheadle Hulme game, taking us through to the semi-finals, where we played a tough game against St Bedes. This game resulted in penalty shoot-outs, with us just pipping them to the post!
The final was then against Manchester High. The Forest girls did a fantastic job in holding their own, with the score a draw by half time. Manchester High came back determined and managed to end the game with a 4-1 win.
Considering some of our girls had never played in a competitive hockey game before and it was their first time playing as a team, they did superbly! Well done to our girls for representing the school in an exceptional manner and for coming runners up!
