Amongst the many things we enjoy celebrating at Forest, one of them is outstanding writing. Mr Francis always looks forward to announcing the Writer of the Week in Reception-Year 6 classes and their work is put on display in the hall for all to see.
We have enjoyed seeing a variety of genres of writing this half term already.
Not only have Year 3 have been busy using alliteration and adverbs in their shape poems, they also took part in a workshop which explored the history of writing and used cuneiform clay tablets. Year 4 have been doing some exciting descriptive writing about magical bath bombs and Year 5 have been considering the most effective way to organise their writing to highlight the main differences between Athens and Sparta.
In addition, this week marked the fourth week of Creative Writing Club. Whether working in teams, pairs, sibling pairs, independently; children from across the school have produced some very impressive writing. Creative Writing Club takes place in Mrs Bradley's room on Tuesday breaktimes.
