Who doesn't love curling up with a good book? At Forest, we want to inspire all children to have a passion for reading. For that very reason, World Book Day, is a very big celebration for us!
All children came to school dressed as one of their favourite characters from a book they love. The day started with the whole school sharing a story at assembly, before upper school gathered around the school grounds to clap all the children from Lower School including Nursery and Kindergarten as they proudly showed off their costumes.
The day continued with lots of activities with many year groups cross-working. Year 4 created and wrote their own story books. Year 3 performed the poem, 'We’re Going on a Bear Hunt,' to Kindergarten and Nursery. They then all went on a 'bear hunt' in the play ground. Year 5 shared hand-drawn images of their favourite characters or authors with Year 1.
