What an incredible Culture Week 2026 we’ve had! 🌍✨
This year, our children explored and celebrated cultures from around the world, including Chinese, Indian, African, Spanish, Jamaican, Italian, Scottish, Mexican, Iranian, and Jewish traditions, as well as learning about influential artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Frida Kahlo and Wilfredo Lam.
Throughout the week, every year group was immersed in a fantastic range of hands-on activities:
🎨 Chinese New Year workshops with lantern making, dragon crafts, stencil art, woodblock printing, paper cutting and ink wash painting
🥁 African drumming workshops
💃 Indian dance workshops and Bollywood dancing
🎭 Spanish and Jamaican cultural sessions
🎨 Street art inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat
🖌️ Work inspired by Frida Kahlo and Wilfredo Lam
🎶 Music from cultures around the world
🏏 Kabaddi in PE and a cricket house competition
📖 Exploring identity, family heritage and global traditions
🎉 Making ‘Gragger’ shakers to learn about Purim
🪭 Chinese lacquer fan-making workshops
🎨 Scottish myths, Celtic knots and mapwork
Our lunches were just as exciting as our learning! The children enjoyed Chinese, Mexican and Indian food.
