🌟 Celebrating Year 3’s Incredible Journey! 🌟
What an amazing first year in Key Stage 2 for our Year 3 class! We are so proud of how much they have grown, developed and challenged themselves throughout the year.
Take a look at the photos to see just how hard Year 3 have been working in English this term!
Our pupils have been developing their non-fiction research and presentation skills, creating fantastic double page spreads all about Sir David Attenborough. They worked incredibly hard gathering information and presenting it clearly, putting them in great stead to take on the exciting Wider World Projects which they will do in Year 4.
In History, Year 3 explored the fascinating story of Tutankhamun, linking this brilliantly to their English learning by writing diary entries imagining the moment his tomb was discovered. Their writing was full of emotion and really captured how people may have felt when first looking inside the tomb. The children carefully followed the success criteria and many even went beyond expectations — an incredible achievement!
Our poetry unit has also showcased Year 3’s creativity. Inspired by the wonderful poem The Sound Collector, children adapted the idea by focusing on the different sounds heard around school, producing imaginative and thoughtful poems full of brilliant vocabulary.
Well done, Year 3! Mrs Eley, Mr Booth and Miss McRae are incredibly proud of your fantastic English skills, your determination, and the effort you have shown throughout your first year in Key Stage 2.

Year 1 visit to Lower Moss Wood Nature Reserve & Wildlife Hospital
Our Year 1 children had a wonderful day out at Lower Moss Wood on Thursday. Led by leader Ray, the children were excited to be shown around the woodland; bird watching, wildlife observing and much more. They also got to meet a very special baby owl.
A highlight of the day had to be the pond dipping where 4 groups were challenged to find as many creatures as possible.
A wonderful day. The children were a credit to our school!
