🌾 Year 6 Bring Learning to Life at The Lambing Shed! 🐄🥩
What a fantastic day Year 6 had at The Lambing Shed Farm Shop & Kitchen, bringing our learning about farming, the food chain and field-to-fork to life!
We started our visit with a tasty breakfast of toast and juice in the café, before heading out to learn all about the animals they rear. The children discovered how the sheep and cattle are cared for and fed a healthy diet of grass and barley, and how looking after the animals helps to produce nutrient-rich meat.
The children were fascinated to see the field-to-fork journey in action. They visited the butcher counter, saw the meat they had been learning about, and watched the skilled butchers making sausages.
Our visit also linked beautifully with our Character Education focus of ‘Caring’. The children reflected on the importance of caring for animals, the environment and the food we eat. 🌱❤️
Our trip ended with an unexpected surprise, the children spotted England goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, at The Lambing Shed, buying some of the meat himself.
A memorable day packed with learning and excitement.

Year 2 visit Staircase House
As the introduction to their History topic, Year 2 visited Staircase House today. In this exciting trip, the children had the opportunity to retell the story of the Great Fire of London within the 17th century rooms at Staircase House.
They dressed up and got involved in role-play while finding out where, when and why the fire broke out. They also enjoyed exploring what Samuel Pepys wrote about the fire and found out what an eye witness is.
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers for giving our Year 2 children a great experience.
