School Vision and Aims

Our Vision

We aspire for all of our children to become confident, secure, caring individuals who achieve personal success and develop a love of learning.

Our Mission

Our vision is embedded in putting pupil success at the heart of every decision.

We provide a happy, stimulating and well-disciplined environment, and encourage each child to reach their full potential and strive for excellence in all areas of school life. We believe in developing pupils’ self-esteem so that they have the confidence to use their individual talents, skills and knowledge effectively and leave Forest equipped to be lifelong learners.

We value the partnership which exists between school, parents and community and the part it plays in realising this vision.

Our Core Values

Our mission is expressed through core values. At Forest Preparatory School, we aim to equip our pupils so that they leave us as a well-rounded individual who is:

  • Well-mannered and Kind
  • Engaged and Enthusiastic
  • Positive and Curious
  • Respectful and a Team Player

These are the values and attributes of a ‘True Forester’.

School Progress Plan 2026 – 2027 Priorities

Forest Preparatory School continually undertakes a series of activities to evaluate its provision. Included within this are contributions from staff, pupils, parents and the governing body, the findings of which are incorporated into a School Development Plan.

Over the course of 2026-2027, we shall be focusing on two key areas which are aligned with our mission and will support our vision.

The two key areas are:

Theme 1 (Academic)

Theme 2 (Pastoral)

To further strengthen pupil progress in foundation subjects by providing clear, personalised, subject-specific guidance that enables pupils to understand and act upon their next steps in learning. To launch, implement and review our reinvigorated Pastoral provision – the Flourish Programme – defining its remit & purpose, making explicit the components of Pastoral provision, launching Character Education as a discrete area of study, and strengthening the connection between members of the Forest community.

Updates through the year will be presented on the school website, newsletters, social media and the Parents Forum.

"I would like to say that my time at Forest Prep School has been amazing and I hope that everyone that joins the school now and in the future has the same amazing experience that I have had." Year 6 pupil
