Chess Club (Year 2 - Year 6)

Autumn Term 2026

Chess Club is run by former British Ladies Champion Sarah Longson (nee Hegarty).  All children will learn the basics of the game and we will then move on to more advanced strategies. The classes will include both taught material and lots of games so the children can practise. Sarah  coaches several members of the England junior squad and is keen to develop some champions from Forest!

Please note that there is no Chess club on Thursday 15th October.

Diddi Dance (Nursery and Kindergarten)

Autumn Term 2026

Diddi Dance is a high energy, engaging class for preschool aged children. We explore a difference theme of dance each term, introducing a love of movement to children that will hopefully last a lifetime. We follow the EYFS, so this class is educational whilst having lots of fun too.

Session Dates: 7th September – 7th December 2026.

Cost per Session: £8.00

MK Coaching Football Club (Nursery, Kindergarten and Reception)

Autumn Term 2026

A Football Club, for both boys and girls in Nursery, Kindergarten and Reception. Players joining the club will develop their football skills and technique, with focus on the fun and enjoyment of playing football. We welcome players of all abilities.

The course is run by experienced, professional footballers (Altrincham Football Club), Matthew Kosylo and Lewis Banks in a friendly, supervised environment.

The course takes place either outside or in the Hall, players also require a pair of trainers and Forest coat.

Session Dates: 9th September – 9th December 2026.

Football Club (Year 1 - Year 4)

Autumn Term 2026

There are two groups for Football Club, for both boys and girls. Group 1 is for Year 1 and 2 and Group 2 is for Year 3 and 4. Players joining the club will develop their football skills and technique, with focus on the fun and enjoyment of playing small-sided football. We welcome players of all abilities.

The course is run by experienced F.A. qualified coaches in a friendly, supervised environment. Each session includes a warm up, skills/technique work and small-sided games and competitions. The course takes place outside, so players need their Forest mid-layer top and base leggings/tracksuits and PE sweatshirts. Players also require training shoes (no boots) and a drink and/or snack.

Session Dates: 7th September – 7th December 2026.

Just B Arty Club (Reception - Year 6)

Autumn Term 2026

Be creative..be expressive…be designers…be happy….be you! Just Be Arty extra curricular club will allow children to have a fun packed after school art session using a huge range of activities, materials and projects. Children can let their imaginations run wild as they explore painting on canvases, clay, crafts and even jewellery making.

Cooking club is for children from Reception – Year 2. Each session will be hands on with the children creating something different each week. This will include sweet and savoury dishes and will include dishes from around the world. Please be advised that places will be limited.

The cost of the club includes the cost of the ingredients, packaging and recipe card.

LAMDA Lessons (Year 1 - Year 6)

Autumn Term 2026

The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is one of the oldest drama schools in the United Kingdom. Since the 1880s LAMDA has offered speech examinations to the public. These examinations have been refined and developed and now not only can the children take exams in Poetry and Prose but also acting and Musical Theatre. In addition to being the UK’s largest statutory speech and drama awarding body, LAMDA examinations have a reputation for excellence across the globe.

The examinations help children of all ages and aspirations to:

  • Unlock the imagination and creative-thinking
  • Develop communication skills
  • Build self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Receive critical appraisal and guidance for future development

Dawn Flint, who conducts the lessons, has a degree in Theatre and works freelance in Cheshire as a Musical Theatre and LAMDA Teacher.  These lessons offer your child the opportunity to learn and develop another valuable life skill. The sessions take place with small groups of up to six children.

Dawn Flint (see LAMDA) will be teaching Musical Drama Club. Children who attend this club play games, learn dance routines and perform songs. They develop performance skills, improved speech and diction, gain more confidence and enhance their social and interaction skills.  Most importantly, they will have fun!  Places are strictly limited.

Mad Science (Reception - Year 6)

Autumn Term 2026

Mad Science has been the North’s largest fun science provider for 15 years. Established in 2006, we are the north of England’s leading science enrichment provider. We deliver unique, hands-on science experiences for children through after-school programs.. Each year we reach over 150000 kids with our unique brand of fun science. Inspiring budding scientists on a scale that will make a difference!

Children in Year 1 – 2 will be welcome to attend sibling stay until the club begins at 3:45pm.

Speedy Ninja's (Year 1 - Year 6)

Autumn Term 2026

Speedy Ninja’s is all about building resilience, stamina, strength, focus and a sense of team spirit. It consists of various drills, obstacles and exercises encouraging children to stay active but enjoy at the same time.

The club also introduces the fundamentals of weight training, using kettlebells/dumbbells and progressing to barbells. The children work every week to build their skills and get to test their strength every few weeks.

The club is open for children in the Lower School (Y1 – Y2) and Upper School (Y3 – Y6).

They are required to come in their PE kit and shoes, and bring a healthy nut free snack and water bottle for a good pre-session nourishment.

Spanish Club is taught by Miss Saez.

Miss Saez is a native speaker, born in Valencia, Spain, and has experience tutoring Spanish, Catalan and English as an additional language.

Spanish Club offers interactive, fun and practical lessons, combining exciting games, story-telling, catchy songs and engaging cultural activities to make learning Spanish fun, easy and very useful.

A team of qualified LTA tennis coaches from Brooklands Tennis Club, led by coach, Kev Bhunjun, will coach children keen to learn or improve their tennis skills.

Lessons are fun and varied, incorporating games and drills that are designed to encourage children to develop their tennis skills.

Our Upper School pupils produce a fantastic newsletter each term, developing real-world writing, interviewing, and photography skills. They thrive on the camaraderie, teamwork, and creativity that comes with being part of our enthusiastic group of young journalists. Their work is also proudly published on our school website, giving pupils a real platform for their voices to be heard.

Journalism Club runs every Monday, 3.50–4.50 pm (excluding Parents’ Evening).

Our KS1 Gymnastics classes for Reception to Year 2 are designed to introduce young children to the exciting world of gymnastics.
