Key Stage 1: Engaged. Energetic. Enthusiastic.

Year 1:

This half term, our Year 1 pupils eagerly presented their assembly, “The Enormous Turnip!” to their adoring fans (aka their families).

With smiles like Cheshire cats, the children sang with energy and recited words with precision; teaching us the importance of working together.

Year 2:

Recently, our keen Year 2 children  set off on a mini-break (residential) to Burwardsley. The children were very excited (as were the staff!).

Before arriving at the Education Centre, they called in at Cheshire Ice Cream Farm for a quick play and a treat. Once they had unpacked, the sun appeared and they set off on a 3 hour trek up the famous Burwardsley Hill to build dens and learn about different habitats and nature.

They also participated in a willow-weaving activity, singing songs in front of the campfire, eating marshmallows and sharing stories. They then settled down to a hot chocolate and storytime with Mr Booth.

After a good night’s sleep (ish), the children were fully fed and ready for more action! First off, they visited the roundhouse to learn about how people lived in the Iron Age. They then channeled their design skills, making clay pots. and even became archaeologists, digging for interesting finds.

The children embraced two days of fun and interactive learning and Mr Booth, Mrs McClearn, Mrs Wells and Miss Walsh returned to school feeling incredibly proud of our 6 and 7 year olds.
