What a fantastic World Book Day celebration. The day started with a whole school assembly where Mr Hyde shared one of his favourite stories, Six Dinner Sid. The children loved listening to the adventures of the mischievous cat and it was a wonderful way to begin our celebrations.
After the story, it was time for our costume showcase! Class by class, every child told the school which character they had dressed up as. They all spoke with such big, confident voices, it’s hard to believe that our Nursery children are only 2 years old! We were so proud of how confidently they spoke in front of everyone.
Throughout the day, the children also took part in lots of book themed activities, including making bookmarks, writing about their favourite characters, and designing their own book covers. The day was certainly successfully in maintaining children’s love for a good story. What’s better than curling up with a book!
