We are advertising for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to teach Guitar Lessons on either Mondays (afternoons), Tuesdays (middle of day), or Wednesdays (afternoons) in term time to pupils in Years 2-6, commencing in November this year. The position would be a freelance one, with the teacher required to invoice their pupils and manage their own register. We expect there to be three pupils wanting to commence lessons immediately, with the opportunity to grow the register over time.
We are looking particularly for someone to teach proper guitar technique from the very beginning with pupils working, as appropriate, towards ABRSM (or similar) Guitar Exams and entering festivals such as Heaton Mersey and Alderley Edge. This work would be combined with more popular repertoire in order to build skills across a range of genres.
Our school – Forest Preparatory School is a co-educational school located in Timperley, with a register of just over 200 pupils from Nursery to Year 6, offering peripatetic lessons in piano, voice, violin, flute, trumpet, drums and guitar. We have four Choirs, a String Ensemble and Brass Ensemble, as well as a large number of pupils involved in Musical Theatre through LAMDA. Our Lower School (Reception-Year 2) perform a Nativity production each year with the Upper School (Years 3-6) involved in a large-scale Summer Show.
