A Music Festival to Note

The 2026 Alderley Edge Festival was a week filled with music and celebration.

On Tuesday, young pianists and string players took to the stage, with Dron and Vidit both earning 1st place, while many children made their festival debuts for the very first time. Wednesday brought more success as Jade won the Grade 5 Piano Solo and singers, brass players, and pianists continued to impress the audiences and adjudicators alike.

Thursday transformed the festival into a sea of purple blazers as the school ensembles performed. Chamber Choir achieved a thrilling 1st place by just one mark, while Main Choir earned a superb 2nd place for their moving performance of Here Am I. Younger performers also shone brightly, with several children representing their year groups with pride.

By Fantastic Friday, Greenhouse Choir delighted the audience with an energetic 2nd place performance, and Luc rounded off the week with 2nd place in the Grade 4/5 Violin Solo. In a wonderful ending to the festival, Luc was invited to perform at the Gala Concert, bringing an unforgettable week of music to a perfect close.

Outstanding Achievements

Luc and Charlotte faced tough competition, performing in categories that included children up to Year 8. Charlotte achieved an amazing 3rd place, an incredible accomplishment considering she is only 8 years old. Luc won the Junior String Recital in the Year 8 and below category.

A special mention to the following children who made their festival debuts; Grace, Elysse, Violet, James, Esther, Elon Oscar, Ida, Barney, Neel, Francesca, Dron, Tara, Vidit, Reuben, Aahana, and Lara.
