We’re excited to introduce a new buddy scheme bringing together Year 2 and Year 4 for our weekly Mini Maths Champs sessions, held every Thursday. The scheme is designed to build confidence, enjoyment, and curiosity around times tables.
Children work alongside their Maths Champ buddy to take part in a range of fun maths games and challenges. The initial sessions focused on building relationships, sharing skills, and developing confidence. As the year progresses, a friendly competitive element will be introduced.
Year 2 pupils benefit from the guidance and support of their Year 4 buddies, while Year 4 children strengthen their own mathematical understanding by explaining concepts and strategies which helps to secure their learning as well.
