Forest Prep is an independent, co-educational school situated in Timperley which borders Altrincham. The school is for children aged 2 – 11 years and consists of a Nursery and Kindergarten (pre-school) which makes up the Early Years department alongside the Reception class. Our Nursery and Kindergarten is open all year round (48 weeks of the year) to offer a stimulating learning experience for our youngest pupils. Based in a quiet residential area in Timperley, Altrincham, our school grounds consist of the original house full of character and charm, surrounded by beautifully maintained leafy gardens. The school is rated ‘Excellent’ in all areas in its latest ISI Report in May 2018.
At Forest, staff provide a happy, stimulating and well-disciplined environment, and encourage each child to strive for excellence, and reach their full potential in all areas of school life.
Excellent pastoral care is built on knowledge of every child as an individual, and with an ‘open door’ policy strong links are formed with parents, allowing for excellent communication between home and school.
Our Wraparound Care enables children from the age of two to be safely looked after in school from 7:30am until 6:00pm each day.
Though the nursery and school is not selective at infant level, Forest has great expectations, resulting in high aspirations from the children, and great achievements occurring both in and out of the classroom.

I would like to say that my time at Forest Prep School has been amazing and I hope that everyone that joins the school now and in the future has the same amazing experience that I have had.
It is hard to imagine walking in to the grounds of a more vibrant and happy school. Even before meeting any of the staff or children, there is a warmth to the atmosphere that exudes contentment, safety and success.
I am continuously impressed with my son’s academic and social development. The progress he's made in a short space of time is impressive and a credit to the quality and consistency of teaching and pastoral care.
Forest Preparatory School is warm and welcoming and a great place to work. Every teacher knows every child by name and the sense of community is felt very strongly by the children, teachers and parents alike.
