At Forest Preparatory School, we prepare children for moving on to a wide variety of secondary schools, but most importantly the right school for each child that leaves us in Year 6. As an Independent Prep School we are very mindful that many of our families are striving for the Trafford State Grammar Schools and are 11+ preparation will give them the skills and confidence to do their very best.
The Trafford Grammar School Consortium is changing its entrance examination from 2027, with Future Stories Community Enterprise (FSCE) replacing GL Assessment. At Forest Prep, we are adapting our 11+ preparation to reflect these changes while continuing what we have always done which is developing strong English, mathematics, reasoning and problem-solving skills within the children. Being an Independent Prep School we have never been restricted by the National Curriculum. We follow it as a foundation, while going above and beyond to offer a broad curriculum which excites our children and inspires them to think independently. This approach means that our children are not simply taught how to pass a test, they are equipped with the ability to apply their learning to new and unfamiliar challenge, skills that are increasingly important within the new Trafford assessment.
Our experienced teachers will continue to do what they have always done by providing structured, age-appropriate preparation while ensuring that children develop the strong academic foundations and independent learning skills that will benefit them well beyond the 11+ examination.
