Listening, Actioning and Improving Through Pupil Voice

Listening, Actioning and Improving Through Pupil Voice

At Forest Prep, we pride ourselves on giving opportunity to and listening to all members of our community when it comes to how we can continue to improve and develop as a school. We do this in a range of ways, from staff meetings to parental questionnaires and forums. Additionally, the ‘Pupil Voice’ is also of equal importance to us; with children's opinions and ideas always given the utmost attention.

One of the primary vessels of this Voice is through our School Council. We have members from Reception to Year 6, who meet on a regular basis with Mrs Burns to discuss topics and make suggestions that can help improve and enhance their experience of life at Forest. This week, they will once again be talking with Chef Simon to discuss their thoughts on the school menu.

Over lunchtime today, I will also be meeting with the two School Council Chairs, JW and GB, who will update me with the news from their latest meetings and thoughts of how to move forward. I am always so impressed with the Council’s balanced attitude and determination to fulfil their roles in the best possible way.

This is, again, another reason we are so proud of our children and how they care for our school community; by helping to improve it for the benefit of us all.
