In recent weeks, it has been so pleasing to see so many of our children competing at a high level in their sports fixtures: demonstrated in recent football and netball matches. Our Cross Country runners have performed superbly throughout the season - including some outstanding individual performances - and our swimmers have once more excelled in the pool. The swimming team, made up from boys and girls from Year 4 to Year 6, defended their title against nine other schools in the ISA North Gala and five swimmers will go on to represent the North of England at the Olympic pool in London this weekend. This will be for a third consecutive time for both Michael and Ruby from Year 6.
It is not just these excellent team and individual performances that make us so proud, but the team spirit and mutual support that our children embrace. Across year groups, they naturally support and encourage each other and show great respect for the contributions and achievements of others. This is so pleasing to see and captures perfectly their desire to achieve and succeed but also their understanding of doing it in the correct way. Well done to all our sports stars this term and good luck to the swimmers this weekend!
