Spelling Club runs three mornings a week, for 15 minutes, with Mrs McClearn in Lower School and Mrs Mulholland in Upper School .
Children who are thought will benefit the most from this intervention are chosen by their class teacher to attend.
The children are taught the spellings through spelling strategies and rules using fun activities. On the final day, they compete in a Speed Spelling Competition. The children are given 15 seconds to write each word correctly, as many times as they can.
At the end of term, the child with the greatest total is recognised with a Speedy Speller Speeding Certificate in Celebration Assembly.
We have been delighted with children who have previously attended, as they made a significant improvement in their spellings.
