Earlier in the week, Year 3 were transported back in time to the Ancient Egyptian era, at Macclesfield Museum.
Marianne Brocklehurst lived in Macclesfield, but she travelled all over the world, including several trips to Egypt. In their new exhibition and workshop for schools, Year 3 had the opportunity to get close to the many treasures she brought back, including the mummy case of Shebmut, an Egyptian dancing girl.
In this interactive workshop, the children met Marianne Brocklehurst, discovered more about her journey on the Nile and the collections she brought back, handled Egyptian artefacts and made their own ‘piece of Egypt’ to take back to school.
Year 3 enjoyed a very informative day.
