Since the start of Chess Club earlier in the academic year, it has been going from strength-to-strength. Its vast number of members have been learning through both ChessKid and our unique training course. Despite its short-lived existence, the club has attracted a great number of children from across a broad age range. Some children have even challenged Mr Hyde to a game, giving him a run for his money!
Sophie F (Year 4) has represented the U11 Girls Cheshire & North Wales team and scored 2/3 in the finals! Danny W (also Year 4) represented CNW in the U9 County Team.
The whole of Chess Club took part in the UK Chess Challenge and four players qualified for the national finals: Sophie (Year 4) and three outstanding Year 2’s – Ben Fo, James H and Ben Fi.
We wish them well in the finals, which take place at the end of June!
