Measuring Children’s Potential

Over the course of the next week, the children from Year Two upwards will be completing their annual autumn assessments. These measure individual children’s potential and will inform teachers of continued areas of strength and development. Teachers below this year group, will continue their daily observations and informal assessments of their children.

Here at Forest, we are proud of the several assessment systems which we have in place: these include, Tapestry, Pupil Asset, CATs and GL Assessment. These not only help us to individualise your child’s learning, but enable us to celebrate their many achievements.

Parents will be informed of how these assessment systems operate throughout the course of the year during information meetings, parents evening appointments and electronic letters; all of which are vital forms of communication between school and home.

We have, as ever, been so impressed with the children’s positive attitudes and commitment towards these latest challenges and tests!
