Since the half term break, life at Forest has been a varied and busy one. We've enjoyed the annual Speech Competition, where all pupils, as ever, shone with their confidence in delivering some fascinating topics and facts. We were also delighted to welcome parents and families into school for the return of Mrs McClearn’s charity breakfast. Thank you to the whole school community for supporting us in raising nearly nine hundred pounds in one day- truly phenomenal!
Academically, each class continues to make excellent progress both in the core subjects and in the wider curriculum. Our October assessment week allows teachers to formally assess pupils from Years 2- 6, giving staff clear benchmarks and greater information on each child’s learning journey. As a school, we were delighted to receive the statement for each class that reads; ‘The mean standard age score for this group is significantly higher than the national average.’ This is a testament to our pupils and staff for their continued hard work and dedication to their studies.
Looking ahead to December, the Forest train continues to roll. We are excited to see the return of many favourites, and some with a slightly different festive twist. Over the next few weeks, we hope you enjoy watching, hearing and sharing all things Chrstmas, obviously done with the purple hint of #theforestway.
