This afternoon, the rain held off for the ISA Northern Junior Athletics competition at the Ethiad Stadium. With 21 schools competing from all over the North West, the competition was extremely tough. All children represented the school admirably and enjoyed the variety of events that took place: high jump, long jump, shot-put, rounders ball throwing, relays and numerous sprint races.
Forest finalists included BB and IF for the Year 4, 60m sprint; LD for the Year 5, 70m sprint; MG for the Year 4, 600m; AD for the Year 4, 600m; CW, MG, CG and BB for the Year 4 boys relay sprint; YP, CC, HT and JH for the Year 5 boys relay sprint. They all did incredibly well and we managed to secure the following places for the ISA National Finals, due to be held when we return from half term in June:
– BB, 60m sprint
– IF, 60m sprint
– MG, 600m
– AD, 600m
– CD, high jump
Mr Bullock, Mrs Johal, Mrs Laffly and Mrs Budd were extremely proud of all the Forest children who took part and would like the thank those parents who came down to support the event and their children.
