Digging Deep for Children in Need

Children in Need is always a highlight in the Forest calendar, especially Mrs McClearn’s Big Breakfast! From 7.30 a.m. the staff donned their aprons to serve families who were welcomed into the hall to choose a selection of breakfast sandwiches, hot toast and drinks. The event, as always, proved a huge success as the hall was filled with parents, grandparents and pupils who enjoyed a hearty breakfast.

Later in the morning, the Years 5 and 6 children hosted a cake and games morning at playtime, with all children indulging in homemade bakes and a selection of games from count the sweets, guess the teddy and finally a penalty shoot out!

Forest prides itself on supporting others who are less fortunate than ourselves and it was warming to see the whole school community come together to do just that!

We are proud to say that our total contribution towards Children in Need this year was a staggering £700. Thank you to all who helped make it the success it was, especially the kitchen staff and head organiser- Mrs McClearn.
