Last Tuesday, Bellevue hosted a Computing Enrichment Day for selected pupils from various schools in the Bellevue group.
The pupils from Forest took part in a variety of tasks throughout the day and worked in a cooperative manner with the other children from Forest Park and Edenhurst Prep.
The children were split into groups of 3 and set a challenge of working together to create a machine using a ‘Lego WeDo 2.0’ set, which encourages the children to use the Lego bricks, motors and battery packs to create their own device to go on and perform a number of challenges.
Children designed their own scripts using the iPad's app to control their device, working well as a team to create and continually critique their machine. The challenges included a tug of war between each team, as well as a competition to see which team can pull the heaviest weight on its trailer.
