This half term has seen each class delve into the new, carefully designed Relationships and PSHE curriculum.
Lessons have been all about celebrating the children for who they are, as individuals, and highlighting those people who are special in the children’s lives.
Whilst the focus in Lower School has been exploring and recognising an array of feelings and how your behaviour can make others feel, Upper School have been learning about the importance of communication, assertiveness skills and different ways in which they could solve problems with friendships, which are all very important life skills.
Before embarking on our chosen SCARF scheme, much research was done into the new curriculum changes imposed on schools by the government and different schemes available to purchase. Here at Forest, we believe that the SCARF scheme is a perfect fit for our children and families; with our core values aligned. With this in mind, ti is no wonder that the delivery of the lessons has been a seamless integration into our Forest daily timetables. Mr Booth has been focusing his key stage assemblies on the topic of friendships and being kind to others, which has enabled these crucial life skills to be further embedded in our Forester's mindset and manner in which they conduct themselves.
