Musical Delights

From ukuleles in Year 2, to boomwhackers and bells in Reception- Ms Wellings has been busy leading a diverse curriculum in music this half term.

Year 1 pupils started the new term with a bang – focusing on treble clef and the note B on the middle line. We practised drawing the treble clef on a plain whiteboard then placed it carefully on the stave. ⁦Meanwhile, Year 5 choir rehearsal focused on a lovely song about friendship.

Individual piano lessons have been progressing well, with the most innovative (and perhaps evil) use of blutack! A noodle barrier so HH’s fingers stay out on the edge of the black keys and a little blob to keep his thumb in good position.

Additionally, a very big ⁦Forest Prep welcome to Miss Shaw, who has started brass lessons. Any pupils interested in commencing tuition, please see Ms W or Mrs Birtles for information.

Please follow our @forestprepmusic Twitter page to view all the wonderful videos of our extremely talented bunch! Consistently working hard towards our Artsmark award!
