Poet from the Peaks: Andy Tooze

Last week, we welcomed the “Poet from the Peaks”, Andy Tooze, who spent the day conducting a series of poetry workshops with Reception to Year 6.

Lower School enjoyed superb master classes in poetry; everyone was engaged and came up with some amazing ideas for creating their own class poems.

In Upper School, the children had so much fun with Andy Tooze, as he gave them some top tips for any writer starting out in poetry. Each child was given the opportunity to apply these tips to create some great poetry in their sessions!

At the end of the day, the whole school reconvened in the hall and some of the day’s poets shared their lovely poems with the rest of the school.

A huge thank you to Mr Francis for organising the visit and to Andy Tooze for delivering an incredible experience with long-lasting lessons for our Foresters.
