There were lots of highs for our Foresters at this year’s Alderley Edge Festival of Music. They brought home numerous awards, including 5 first places.
We scooped first place in the Main Choir, Chamber Choir Year 5 Vocal Solo, Year 3 Grade 2 Piano Solo and Year 1 Grade 2 Piano solo categories.
Second and third places were also picked up in the following solo categories Year 6 Vocal, Year 5 Grade 2 Piano, Year 4 Piano, and Year 2 Grade 1 Piano.
Ms Wellings, Music Director said, “This is the first time our choirs have been awarded first place, so I am immensely proud. It is very well-deserved and is testament to the many hours of rehearsals the children put in.”
Alderley Edge Festival of Music is the second oldest festival in the UK, it has been running for well over 100 years. Every year more than 2,500 people take part in the competitive classes and it is widely regarded as the most competitive in the North-West.
