Year 5 Take on Their 11+ Mock Examination

Year 5 pupils have continued to shine, with their hard work and determination, when they sat a full 11+ mock examination in the school hall. The challenging mock exam was based on a practice paper from the Trafford Grammar Schools Consortium, and we couldn’t be more proud of our Year 5 pupils as they remained composed, focussed and tried their very best.

Just like the actual 11+ assessment, the mock examination consisted of two papers, Paper A and Paper B, each lasting approximately 60 minutes. The children kept their focus and were determined to apply all the skills they had learnt.

Year 5 have been working very hard all year and have continued to push themselves. They have attended late classes and holiday classes, showing real dedication to their studies. Mock examinations are an invaluable part of the preparation process, helping children to become familiar with exam conditions, develop effective time management skills, build confidence and identify strengths and areas for improvement before the real test.

Preparation for the 11+ at Forest is a carefully planned and supportive journey. It begins gently in Year 2 and develops year by year, before moving up a gear in Year 5. This progressive approach ensures that our Foresters are thoroughly prepared, confident in their abilities and ready to continue their education journey in the right place for them.
