Nursery Open All Year Round

February half-term saw the first school holiday provision for our youngest Foresters in Nursery and Kindergarten.

Our high standard curriculum activities continue in the school holidays, plus a bit of extra fun! The children had a great week, they created their own pizzas, took part in a dance session run by a specialist teacher and completed an outdoor forest school session. Forest sessions are always very popular and provide children with the opportunity to excel in a different environment to a classroom setting, which is great for addressing different learning styles.

Miss Bardsley, Nursery Manager, added: ‘I am really enjoying the school holiday provision. The groups tend to be smaller, so I get to spend lots of time with individuals and have a bit more one-on-one time. It is also lovely seeing the children interact from the two different year groups and helps greatly with their social development. Often the older children take on a bit of a ‘leadership’ role and nurture the younger ones, which is always lovely to see.’

We are very much looking forward to our Easter holiday provision and have lots of exciting plans. The children will be baking, taking part in a dance session led by a specialist teacher and learning about gardening through planting seeds in our allotment area. Our Nursery and Kindergarten classes never sleep!
