Scientists for the Day

As part of British Science Week 2023,  Dr Durovic, a Neurologist (and Forest parent), came into school to discuss connections within the brain.

Classes from Reception to Year 6 enjoyed workshops throughout the day, where they learnt more about key skills in being a Scientist, how the brain looks and how the neurons within the brain work. In addition to the theoretical elements to the workshops, each class enjoyed a practical activity. Reception to Year 2 made their own neurons from pipe cleaners, Year 3 and 4 had a 'dress up as a Scientist' race and Year 5 and 6 pretended they were neurons, passing electrical and chemical messages to each other.

A huge thank you to Dr Durovic for taking the time to come in and lead these very interesting workshops.
