Year 5 Visit Ancient Greece

It’s all Greek to me in Year 5…

What better way to start a December than with some fancy dress? It was all go in Year 5 this week as they embarked on a themed day dedicated to their History studies- The Ancient Greeks.

The children started the morning discussing politics and the types of ruling; looking specifically at the rule of law and a democratic society.

Moving through the morning, the children used water-based paints to bring their mythical creatures to life, with some very powerful creations! They also looked at the Ancient Greek alphabet and terminology, writing their names, Ancient Greek style!

In the afternoon, Year 5 were eager to put their knowledge of Greek pottery to the test by making their very own handmade versions.

A great day all round!
