Year 5 and Year 6 Visit to Northern France

Years 5 and 6 enjoyed their week long residential at Le Chateau du Broutel in Rue, Northern France.

The children took part in many activities designed to enhance and familiarise their French speaking and listening; a visit to the Goat Farm, Snail Farm, Supermarket and Local Traders Market and Sweet Shop. They also enjoyed a sunny afternoon on the beach in Berck-sur-mer, with buckets and spades, a game of rounders and an impromptu rugby match against Mr Booth and Mr Hyde!

There was also a History element to their trip as they visited the Somme, and particularly enjoyed their guided tours around the Albert Museum and Newfoundland Centre.

The staff were very impressed with the children and how they conducted themselves during the week.  Thanks must also go to Madame Cotton for organising another very successful visit.

“I had a lovely time in France. My favourite part of the trip was when we went to the beach. I enjoyed eating the snails (although they were a bit chewy!) and the snail pate was delicious! Thank you to all the teachers for taking us on a brilliant holiday.” (Amelia , Year 5)

“Our French was tested to the limit, had a brilliant time, sorry I was sick!” (Toby, Year 6)
