The Reception children enjoy working collaboratively with natural materials in their mud kitchen. The kitchen provides an environment that allows for communication, creativity, and imagination to be used, in an open-ended way. Children can use their observations and experience of cooking and baking to produce amazing earthy Michelin Starred recipes of their own.
There are also countless mathematical opportunities for measuring, filling and emptying and exploring capacity. Additionally, fine motor skills are developed through the use of real tools in play situations. Great mud-baking, Reception!
