Our Upper School is where focus, curiosity, and ambition truly shine. Year 6 is pivotal: it is not just about lessons, it is about preparation – preparing minds, hearts, and characters for the next stage of their journey.
Academically, our True Foresters rise to the challenge. Exams are rigorous, but they are designed to stretch thinking, sharpen skills, and build confidence. From English and Maths to Science and History, the children learn to tackle complex problems, think critically, and express themselves clearly. Long-term projects, timed assessments, and collaborative tasks all ensure that Year 6 pupils are ready, not just for the Eleven Plus, but for life beyond Forest.
The summer before Year 6 officially starts brings a special focus on Eleven Plus preparation. Mr Booth’s Late Class is a hive of energy and ambition, giving pupils that extra edge with targeted practice and strategies that make a real difference. As one pupil said, “I feel really confident going into the Eleven Plus because we practise lots of different questions and Mr Booth explains things so clearly.” Another added, “Even when it feels tricky, I know I can ask for help and we work it out together.”

The children also love life at Forest. One Year 6 pupil shared, “I really enjoy being at Forest. The teachers make learning fun, and everyone supports each other.” Another said, “I feel happy here because we work together and everyone cares about each other.”
