Year 3 pupils have started enjoying a weekly lesson in the Outdoor Learning Classroom, which will continue throughout the summer term. Since beginning these sessions, the children have explored themes of discovery and investigation, engaging in thoughtful and intelligent discussions about what they have uncovered and learned together.
The pupils have taken part in a wide range of exciting activities, including den building, bug hunting, engineering with mechanical structures, MasterChef inspired creative art, and even goat husbandry. The Outdoor Learning Classroom, home to its very own mud kitchen, has been a wonderful new addition to our facilities this September, and has already become a hugely valued part of school life.
Much to our Foresters delight, Ronnie and Maggie (the school dogs), and the popular goats, Rosie and Ruby have also joined the children in these outdoor sessions.
Outdoor learning provides many benefits for children, helping to build confidence, teamwork, creativity, problem solving skills, and a deeper connection with the natural world.
