It is that time of the academic year again, when our oldest pupils move on to pastures new, with exciting challenges awaiting them at secondary school.
Whether the children have been with us since Nursery, or joined at a later stage, here at Forest, we like to mark the end of a huge stage in their lives in a variety of ways and we did not let the continued restrictions and uncertainties affect this.
During their much anticipated “Activities Week’, the class ventured to Fairy Forest School, in Appleton, for a fun-filled and educational trip, Bear Grylls style. Here, children built dams, participated in ‘stream-play’, toasted marshmallows and much more.
This week also saw the children have their French Experience Days (click here for the link), Chester Zoo Trip and get going on their Young Enterprise challenge.
As if that wasn’t an exciting-enough send off, the Year 6 class, accompanied by Mrs Knowles and Mr Booth, managed to fit in a short residential stay at Lockerbrook Farm, Derbyshire. Here, the children enjoyed activities such as orienteering, fire-making, climbing, walking and planning and conducting their own Search and Rescue.
Throughout their time at Forest, each current Year 6 class member has astounded us with their determination to succeed and resilience in dealing so commendably with what life throws their way.
We wish all our Year 6 children luck in their new endeavours and look forward to hearing how they get on.
