The Years 1 and 5 Reading Friends scheme has made a very positive start and both classes have struck up a solid collaborative working ethos.
Academically, the purpose of these sessions is to build upon reading skills and comprehension knowledge, however, there is a very important pastoral stand that comes with it too.
Following on from a handwritten invitation (based on their current class text 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea'), Year 5 attended the Year 1 classroom for a special tea party. It was very much enjoyed by all!
