Children in Need is always a highlight in the Forest calendar and this year we decided to add ‘The British Breakfast’ to our fundraising events. From 7.45 a.m. The staff donned their aprons to serve families who were welcomed into the hall to choose a selection of breakfast sandwiches, hot toasts and drinks. The event proved a huge success as the hall was filled with parents, grandparents and pupils who enjoyed a hearty breakfast. The morning event raised a staggering £350.00.
Later in the morning the Years 5 and 6 children hosted a cake and games morning at playtime, with all children indulging in homemade bakes and a selection of games from name the teddy, flip the bottle and even daring to put hands into ‘gunge!’ Sadie Harrison, Year 3, continued to collect loose change for the Year 3 and 4 coin trail.
Finally, a few weeks prior, our Housekeeper, Mrs Forth, spent an entire week in silence. School seemed much quieter during this time! Well done to Mrs Forth who completed this challenge so admirably.
Overall, we are delighted by the fundraising events and a staggering £660.00 has been raised to date. Forest prides itself on supporting others who are less fortunate than ourselves and it was warming to see the whole school community come together to do just that!
