Spelling Bee Final

Spelling Bee Final

To round off a week of spelling challenges throughout the school, class heat-winners took part in the final today: we could not BEE prouder of them all!

Kindergarten and Reception celebrated their winners; Asher and Alex, respectively.

Year 1 and 2 were the first to compete against each other, and after a tense final (which saw both finalists spelling words selected from the Y5/6 spelling list) it ended as a draw. Well done for your super spelling, Ben and Savannah!

Next, Year 3 and 4 also proved to be a very close final, with Sophie narrowly pipping Isobel to the post to be crowned our champion; a sterling effort from both girls!

Finally, with a last minute stand-in Y6 finalist, upper KS2 took to the floor. With words such as encyclopedia as part of the list, the girls both did incredibly well in successfully spelling a variety of very challenging words. Thea was awarded the winning prize, with Zainab a very close second.

Our first Forest Spelling Bee was a resounding success and would not have been possible without Mrs Mulholland, Mrs McClearn and Mr Francis, so a huge thank you to them.
