This year at Forest, chess has really taken off, with a plethora of players, some as young as 8, competing in external competitions.
Two of our Year 3’s took part in the Northern Chess Championships for U9’s and were delighted to be ranked very strongly; with JH coming third!
With their recent success under their belts, BF and JH felt confident in challenging Mr Hyde to a game. With their ever so tactful manoeuvres around the board, the boys did a brilliant job of beating Mr Hyde!
